Malam sharirasya cha vaidyakena

Yopa karottam pravaram muninam

Patanjalim pranjalir anato'smi"

योगेन चित्तस्य पदेन वाचां

पतञ्जलिं प्राञ्जलिरानतोऽस्मि ॥

"I bow with folded hands to Patanjali, the most excellent of sages, who removed impurities from the mind through yoga, speech through grammar, and body through medicine."

Shatkarma (shatkarna-shodhan)

It essentially entails detoxifying your entire body, both inside and physically. The text depicts a total of six techniques. Extreme caution should be exercised when it comes to rectification (shodhan kriya), both inside and externally.

Asana (asana-dradhta)

While practising Asanas (various postures), one gains firm solidity, persistence, and pertinacity. According to a recent study, asana promotes flexibility, strength, stability, and balance, decreases stress, increases steadiness, and also frees us from diseases such as asthma and diabetes.

Mudrae (mudra-sthirta)

In these scriptures, "Mudra," also known as gestures or hand gestures, are simply ceremonies that help to keep the mind and body stable. You gain steadiness by doing several rituals (symbolic hand movements).

Pratyahara (pratyahara-dherya)

"Pratyahara" is similar to having control over one's senses. So, by practising, you learn to control your senses, which eventually leads to Dheryawaan (patience-being).

Pranayama (pranayama-laaghvam)

"Pranayama" is another word for "control over vital energies." Because breathing is similar to "Prana," which means "life force or vital energy," and Ayama means "control." Pranayama causes the body to lighten and gain buoyancy.

Dhyana (dhyan-pratyaksh)

In simple terms, "Dhyan" indicates "complete attention to something." When we focus our full attention on something, it becomes plain, clear, and obvious. Meditation practice can help you achieve this state.

Samadhi (samadhi-nirliptata)

"Samadhi" is also known as "Meditative Consciousness," and it is said that by obtaining the state of "Samadhi," you will be isolated from the rest of the cosmos and will be one with the "Ultimate One."

Deeper and deeper, when we peel the layers of our inner shelf, no matter what the pathways are, the journey makes all the difference.
